State-of-the-art Multi Services Solution for Effective Governance

Information Technology is a strategic industry, which impacts on a wide range of economic activities and improves the effectiveness of governance.

The Gujarat State Government has been a visionary in the development of Information Technology in public administration applications. In its endeavor to make IT an effective tool for e-Governance and its reach to common people of the state, it had planned to integrate the entire State upto Taluka using high bandwidth BSNL links. The network is named Gujarat State Wide Area Network (GSWAN).

UTL implemented yet another prestigious contract for establishing the Wide Area Network projects in India.

UTL chose state-of-the-art technologies for implementing this project. The core of the network is built around state-of-the-art products from Cisco, Alcatel, Polycom & other carrier class equipment.

This Network links State capital Gandhinagar with 25 district head quarters over high speed (2 Mbps upgradable to 8 Mbps) lines and 230 towns at the Taluka level to be connected to the network on 64 Kbps (upgradable to 2 Mbps) leased lines. The Multi Service Multimedia Network carries Voice, Data, and Video traffic.
